Developers and councillors are consulting local residents on plans for 1,400 new flats in four residential buildings on Owen Street in the Great Jackson Street development area.
The proposed scheme, part of the wider Great Jackson Street Regeneration Framework, will deliver approximately 1,400 flats within four residential buildings. The buildings will be supported by an amenity building for residents which provides a tennis court, swimming pool, cinema, gym and studios, 3 levels of basement car parking, active uses including cafes and restaurants at the ground floor level as well as a substantial area of new public space immediately adjacent to the River Medlock totalling approximately 9,000sqm.
The plans will be submitted to the planning authority in February. Developers are currently conducting an informal consultation with local residents and other stakeholders.
